During a media briefing following its financial report, Tencent disclosed the latest progress on Hunyuan 3.0. Described as the most significant upgrade in the product line's history, the new model shows remarkable improvements in logical reasoning and complex task handling compared to version 2.0. It is further optimized for agent capabilities, aiming to build intelligent assistants that can autonomously understand and act on behalf of users.
The upgrade required deep 'internal improvement' since late 2025, including full optimization of R&D processes, infrastructure rebuilding for pre-training and reinforcement learning, and improved data quality. Hunyuan already leads in multimodal areas such as 3D generation and text-to-image, with these capabilities already deployed in Yuanbao and WeChat. The release in April will deepen integration with the WeChat ecosystem.
