Uber Partners with Rivian in $1.25 Billion Robotaxi Deal

Uber and Rivian announced a strategic partnership to deploy autonomous robotaxis across major U.S. cities. Uber will invest up to $1.25 billion in Rivian, with plans to initially deploy 10,000 R2 robotaxis, with an option to expand to 40,000 units by 2030. The service is scheduled to launch in San Francisco and Miami in 2028, expanding to 25 cities globally by 2031.
